Production is well on its way for the movie 50 to 1, the story of the improbable 2009 Kentucky Derby winner, Mine That Bird.


Shooting is scheduled to take place in Louisville from Oct. 12 through Oct. 21, and the production company is looking for some 500 people to be cast as extras in the film. These would be paid positions, with overtime likely.

The movie stars Skeet Ulrich as Chip Woolley, two-time Emmy Award winner William Devane as co-owner Dr. Leonard Blach, 'True Blood' star Todd Lowe as racing manager Kelly Denninton, Christian Kane as co-owner Mark Allen, Bruce Wayne Eckelman as Bob Baffert, and Calvin Borel as himself.
